Polka Dot Wallet

h1 Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

I found instructions to make a wallet on some website (though I don’t remember where), and I thought ‘Hmm, I need a wallet’. So I made one!

It took about forty-five minutes or so, though maybe a little less. I was glad because it was an easy pattern, and I didn’t make any mistakes (that I know of yet)

The one thing that I will have to change is the card holders. They are a little too big, so if I turn it upside-down and shake they fall out (though I don’t know when I would ever shake it anyway) Also, the next one I do will have to have some place for change, since this one doesn’t.
Here it is:

And it closed:

The inside (where the money goes) is purple!

Jean Skirt

h1 Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

I made this skirt a few months ago. I used an old pair of jeans that had holes in the knees.

The first thing I did was ripping the seams out of the inside of the legs. By the time I finished, there was a pile about a foot high of bits of thread. This was just a bare to clean up, since I got some on the carpet by accident.

The next step was sewing the front legs together. This was relatively easy, but the next step was a little harder. I had to cut a triangle of the purple fabric and sew it in the back of the skirt. It was difficult finding the right size it should be.

When this was done, I had to hem the bottom, partly so it wouldn’t fray, and partly because it was too long.

This took a few hours, though I worked on it over the course of a few days. I’m thinking of embroidering decorations on it, but haven’t had the time to yet.
