Long Time No See

h1 Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Wow, I really can let something go for a loooooong time!

I’ve done so many things since I last posted, such as getting a new spinning wheel. It is so close to school getting out, and I am planning on posting more this summer. With a new computer, I still have to download Photoshop (which I use to edit photos) and MS Frontpage for web editing.

So much to catch up on, I better get going!

Going to work on my own theme, too.

Spinning Wheel and Lots ‘o Yarn

h1 Friday, August 25th, 2006

I haven’t posted many projects lately, mostly because I have gotten lazy.  I got a spinning wheel for my birthday from my aunt (it was an old one of hers) so I have spent a lot of time spinning lately.  I’ll post pictures of the yarn I’ve made so far at a later time (when I get around to it)

Here it is:

On a separate note, I got a bag of yarn yesterday.  A big bag.  When standing in line to get my school papers and locker, I pulled out some knitting.  After knitting a few rows, my friend’s mom asked me if I wanted any yarn.  It turns out that they got a bunch from a relative, but no one in the family knits.  Of course I said yes, because who doesn’t need more yarn?

So I now have a big bag, but I haven’t looked through it yet.  I think it is mostly acrylic, but there may be some other stuff!

My Birthday Gift

A sewing machine! My very own, so I don’t have to share with my mom anymore. It is so nice having an easy to use machine (that Pfaff took a while to learn). I haven’t sewn much on it yet (just tested out different stitches) but I will once that purple satin gets here.

Yippee!

Thanks Mom and Dad

p.s. It’s so pretty, too!

My Ball Gown

h1 Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

A few days ago I decided I need my own ball gown.  No reason, really, just because.  After searching online to no avail, I was dragged to the store to look so I would stop whining.  I couldn’t believe that there weren’t more ball gown patterns.  I mean, who doesn’t need one?

So after looking through the costume pattern book about 5 times, I decided on a pattern: Simplicity 4479.  Exactly what I was looking for!  I paid for it and came home.

Soon after I set up a cart on fabric.com with all I need.  More expensive than I am used to paying for one outfit, but it will be worth it.  7.5 yards of a shiny purple satin is now on its way to my house.

I can’t wait!

My Awesome Painted Door

h1 Friday, August 4th, 2006

So, I completely redid my room. It started with a major clean and organizing spree. I put in laminate floors (where there was carpet), painted, took down the closet doors, and got three six foot bookcases for my books. All with the help of my fantastic mom, I might add.

I also painted my door with my own design.

That purple is what my whole room is painted in now. Bright, BRIGHT purple!
